Finding the right wall paint for Navy Furniture

I'm in the process of choosing a new color for my living room that will look nice with Red Oak floors (they actually look more orange than red), coordinate nicely with a navy sofa and other navy/white furniture, and be dark enough so that the French doors pop.

I've scanned blogs, Google and Houzz for ideas. Also, I've scanned fan decks for chips that seem to work well. On my list to try: BM Shaker Beige, BM Grant Beige, BM Pashmina, BM Bleeker Beige and BM Revere Pewter. What will be the winner?

Now I'm going to test a few of the colors on the wall behind the sofa.
Benjamin Moore Shaker Beige- nice color but too intense next to navy sofa

Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter HC- 173- too cool next to blue sofa

Beige, Greige, Tan, Taupe...What's the difference?

If you are choosing a shade of beige wall color, the variations can be dizzying. Here's a quick primer on all things beige.

Taupe- medium to dark grayish brown that could be slightly tinted purple, yellow or green
Beige- pale browns or yellows. Light gray with a brown tint. It's the French term for undyed wood or cotton.
Tan- pale tone of brown
Khaki- greenish or moderately yellowish brown
